DESCRIPTION

MID CENTURY CHROME AIRPLANE LIGHTER

Age: More than 50 years old.

Size: measures approx. 6″ long with a 5″ wingspan. The diameter of the base is 2 1/2″

Composition: Metal

Rating: 7

Comments: This “Airframe” cigarette lighter made by Dollin Diecasters Co of Irvington, New Jersey is activated by spinning the prop slightly until the center compartment opens, striking the flint and lighting the wick. The chrome finish is in good condition having some minor scratches, a few small spots of rust and normal use wear. The black paint on the top of the trap door containing the lighter is worn off and the black painted ring just behind the propeller prop also has paint loss. The lighting mechanism appears to be functional but the flint needs to be replaced along with the wick. The bottom of the item is marked “Made in America. Pat. Pend.” The rubber base is slightly melted and deformed; one of the two screws located on the bottom appears to be missing.

Maximum Bidding

To save our bidders time, our system is desgined to accept "maximum bids."
A "maximum bid" is the highest bid you are willing to place on an item.
Our system will automatically bid for you, in the required increments, up to your "maximum bid."
The initial bid placed for you will be only as high as required to outbid any current bidders should your "maximum bid" be highest.
This means that you will always pay the minimum price required to "win" an item, and not necessarily your "maximum bid"

**NOTE: In the event that your maximum bid ties a previously left maximum bid, the previously left maximum bid will prevail.

**If you are the current High Bidder, entering another "Maximum Bid" will simply adjust your current "Maximum Bid" to the new amount providing it is higher than the "Current Bid". You are allowed to increase or decrease your "Maximum Bid"
