EARLY CANTON GINGER JAR (NO TOP)

Age. More than 50 years old
Composition. Pottery/stoneware
Size. 6 high x 6 wide/deep
Rating: 7
Comments. This ginger jar has tapered sides and a slightly raised upper lip which held the cover in place, but sorry we do not have it. It has a light gray glaze onto which cobalt glaze designs have been hand-painted which include boats, scenery, a building and people. It has some hand painted designs/lettering which could possibly be the artists initials underneath. There are some missing glaze areas which are from the factory and this item is heavy for its size. This item is in sturdy shape with no apparent breaks having normal use wear, has some glaze/manufacturing imperfections, some darkening in the glaze crazing lines, soiling/stains and has some small edge flecks/chips on the top as seen in our photo. Give it a cleaning and will make a nice addition to your Oriental decor.

Maximum Bidding

To save our bidders time, our system is desgined to accept "maximum bids."
A "maximum bid" is the highest bid you are willing to place on an item.
Our system will automatically bid for you, in the required increments, up to your "maximum bid."
The initial bid placed for you will be only as high as required to outbid any current bidders should your "maximum bid" be highest.
This means that you will always pay the minimum price required to "win" an item, and not necessarily your "maximum bid"

**NOTE: In the event that your maximum bid ties a previously left maximum bid, the previously left maximum bid will prevail.

**If you are the current High Bidder, entering another "Maximum Bid" will simply adjust your current "Maximum Bid" to the new amount providing it is higher than the "Current Bid". You are allowed to increase or decrease your "Maximum Bid"
